President Obama unveiled a home foreclosure prevention program that could help up to 9 million families.

The plan could use up to $275 billion in taxpayer money to help troubled mortgage holders stay in their homes. New home construction projects hit a record low in January. GM and Chrysler ask for $22 billion more in government aid. Conway Gittens reports from New York.
